For: Excellent Fun for all
Against: Expensive to construct and therefore play.

Can be a little unrewarding for good mini golfers

Algae build can become a severe problem as water is trapped in surface material

Borders: Wood, concrete, brick

Lynx golf : Typically medium to long fairways with subtle changes in levels. Sand filled 12 - 25 mm synthetic turf laid over aggregate or concrete retained base. Can be with themed surrounds though general landscaping is proffered.
Borders: Rocks and open borders
Green Speed: Medium fast
Stimpmeter reading: 10’
For: Good quality putting. Free Draining surfaces therefore less algae/moss build up.
Against: Slight variations in greens can develop though in this respect it lends itself closer to real golf greens

Mini ‘challenge’ Golf : Short to medium length holes with simple yet entertaining designs. Construction is generally short tufted synthetic grass or needle punched surface glued onto concrete.

Green speed: Fast

For: simple, lower cost construction
Against: can be a little bland

Themed Courses: Elaborate rockworks, water features, structures, features. Themes - Jurrassic, Safari, Pirate, Ice, Gold mining...
Lynx Style Courses: Long undulating fairways with bunkers water features and beautiful landscaping
Challenge Courses: Competition style courses where a hole in one is possible on every hole
